Johnson-O'Malley

Johnson-O’Malley or as it is commonly referred to as JOM, is a program administered through the Department of the Interior (Bureau of Indian Affairs).  Funds are specifically for assistance to Indian students. Qualifying students must have one-quarter degree of Indian blood in a federally recognized tribe. This program is overseen by an Indian Parent Committee, who actively participates in the writing and implementation of its programs.

NOTICE If a child of Indian heritage has a CDIB card, the office needs a copy of the card.  Also, a copy of their parent's card is required before the child can be added to the JOM roll.  Students on the JOM roll are eligible and urged to attend JOM meetings held each month at Holly Creek School where they will learn about their Indian heritage by participating in arts, crafts and other activities.  JOM students also attend an end of the year trip and those who miss less than 5 days of school are awarded special gifts or another trip for their attendance. Your CDIB card is your proof of eligibility, so make sure that the office has the requested copies as soon as possible.  Please make sure when filling out any kind of paperwork for school records,  you note your child's race as INDIAN.  If your child is already on the JOM roll, we ask that you send us a copy of your current home phone number and address. Your child's records may contain outdated information.
