I graduated from Hugo High School in 1993. I then moved to Durant, Oklahoma where I attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in 1997 in Psychology with a minor in music. I then continued attending SOSU and obtained my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1998.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have worked in the counseling field for 15 years. I am now also a certified teacher.
This is my first year teaching and I am very excited about this opportunity. I will be teaching music and art. I have been singing my entire life and have had a passion for music since I was a very young child. I look forward to encouraging the learning of fine arts in my students.
Prior to this job, I have worked as a children's therapist for the past 15 years. I have worked with children and families with a variety of problems over the years. I believe that I can use the experience I have had to encourage and work with all students.
I am married and have been for the past 8 1/2 years. I have two small children, Mia, age 5 and Presli, age 2. Mia will be in kindergarten this year at Holly Creek. I am looking forward to next year when Presli will be able to attend Holly Creek in the 3 year old program. We have one dog named Sarge. He is a collie/heeler mix.
I love to spend time with my family. My husband is the youth minister at First Baptist Church and we spend lots of time with teenagers. I am also on the worship team at my church and am blessed to get to sing every Sunday.
